Hockey Goal! Digraphs
It’s always fun to incorporate students’ interests into learning activities. The Make, Take & Teach Goal! activity is a great way for our little hockey fans to practice the reading words containing consonant digraphs (sh, ch, th, wh). To play this game, students take turns choosing hockey pucks and reading the words. Choose a “goal” puck and the player can pick a few more pucks, choose the “penalty” puck and all the pucks must be placed back. This game is perfect for either small group instruction or as a literacy center activity as it allows for both differentiation and multiple opportunities for response. There are 138 hockey pucks with words containing digraphs.
